The God Of...
Exodus 3
Introduction
At the start of this year, we declared it a year to walk with God, outlining specific ways to deepen that journey.
Moses is often remembered as one of the greatest figures in Scripture, the man who brought God’s law to Israel. Yet his life shows us something profound — if God could be the God of Moses, He can be the God of anyone.
God calls each of us for a purpose. But fulfilling that purpose requires first knowing who has sent us. When God revealed Himself to Moses, He began with familiar names: “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
That’s where many of us begin too. At first, God may seem like the God of your pastor, your parents, or the friend who led you to Christ. But over time, through personal encounters, He becomes your God — real, present, and intimate. At that point, we no longer rely solely on secondhand knowledge.
So the question is: Who is God to you? And what has He called you to do?
Discussion
- Your relationship with God doesn’t have to be complicated.
He has already made Himself accessible to you. Too often, we forget how much He loves us. - You win on your knees.
Prayer is where strength, wisdom, and clarity are won long before battles are fought. - When God calls you, He equips you.
If Moses had fully understood who was sending him, he might never have questioned his ability. But as his understanding of God grew, his confidence grew too. So, who is God to you? Your journey with Him deepens as your knowledge of Him expands. - God reveals the end from the beginning.
He keeps His promises, but we often fail to track them. Everything you need as a believer is already found in His Word. Go back. Reflect. Connect the dots. - God meets you where you are.
Throughout Moses’ journey, God revealed Himself in many ways; each revelation was exactly what Moses needed at that moment.
God is a God who can give a word for one and make it a word for all.
- Hold onto God’s vision.
Visualizing His promises and aligning your faith with His Word keeps your heart steady. Hold onto the vision of what God has promised you and continually align your thoughts and actions with that vision.
Challenges aren’t punishments; they’re part of the process. Walk confidently in the knowledge that God is on your side and remain conscious of His presence.
- God prepares you before the promise.
Often, the preparation begins in your thoughts and heart long before you see fulfilment. And when God gives you a promise, remember — He’s the only one who fully understands it. You can trust Him.
Final Thoughts
When it’s time to move, God often gives a sense of urgency — a clear nudge to act in His timing.
Take time to consciously reflect on what God has already done for you. His faithfulness yesterday is proof of His faithfulness tomorrow.
When God gives a word, He goes ahead of you to prepare the way. And when that word becomes real to you — no longer just information but revelation — it empowers you to walk in new dimensions.
Remember: God is deeply invested in your journey. (Romans 12:1)
And never forget, the Holy Spirit is essential for accomplishing everything God has planned for your life.
