Walk With God

Anchor Scripture: Joshua 24: 29-31

Personal Review

  • Prayer is becoming easier — thanks to consistent prayer walks.
  • Tracking progress helps — I’m finding tools to stay accountable.
  • The retreat reminded me of community — what we’re going through is common; we’re not alone, and there is love.
  • More worship, more Word — I’m listening to messages, attending church, and reviewing Sunday sermons.
  • Using drive time wisely — worship, devotionals, and messages are turning travel into quiet time with God.

A Leadership Conversation

Do we understand what we’re asking for when we expect God to make us inventors, creators, or even mega-wealthy? If an assignment is truly from God, we can’t succeed without Him.

Jesus prioritized His relationship with the Father. Paul did the same. So did Joseph. Scripture reminds us that “the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow.” God never intended us to do ministry or leadership in our strength. He calls us to lean on Him for wisdom, direction, and grace.

Lessons from Joshua’s Leadership

  1. Your calling is bigger than you.
Your needs are no longer just about you. God calls us to serve people beyond our immediate family and friends.
  2. Leadership requires strength and courage.
Big assignments mean stepping into big shoes. Sacrifice is part of the journey, and encouragement may not always come from those you lead. Like David, sometimes you have to encourage yourself in the Lord. Like Abraham, you may need to trust God even when others don’t understand. In the same way, let us trust God, lean into His word and be courageous in pursuing the work that He has committed into our hands.
  3. Follow well before you lead.
Joshua was first a faithful follower. He allowed himself to be coached by Moses, learning from both his mentor’s successes and failures. That humility and teachability prepared him for leadership.
  4. Keep growing.
Take leadership courses, apply yourself to training, and keep developing. Leadership doesn’t stop at calling — it requires learning.

How to Respond

  • Just go and do.
God gives instructions step by step. If He has called you, He will go with you. Take small steps with the right heart and right motives.
  • Be a lifelong learner.
Keep developing your skills and applying yourself to growth.

In Conclusion

God is calling us into bigger things. He is stirring our hearts to embrace more. The gifts inside us are not just for us — they are for the people God has called us to serve.

With courage, strength, and His Word, we can accomplish everything He has planned. And we can be sure of this: He will help us, because He is the One who called us.
